Sandown Race Tips & Analysis for July 17, 2024

Michael Kruse 17 July 2024 Last Updated: 17/07/24

The Sandown Racecourse will be run on the lakeside track and it’s expected to play in the heavy 9-10 range. The rail is out 4m for the entire circuit.

Predicting that the fence will be off, runners will look to swing wide to make use of the fresher ground.

Today’s Sandown racing tips can be found below,

Best Bet

Race 4: Expected Tempo: Solid

#3 RIPROAR

Yes, he is a tough horse to “catch”

But gee i think todays setup suits him nicely.

This a fair drop in depth to what he has been contesting in of late.

The wet conditions won’t be an issue.

Believe he presses forward on-pace and gives them something to catch.

He has the motor and fitness on his side after coming back from the 1400m.

Next Best Tip

Race 6: Expected Tempo: Solid

#2 FIRE GLO TOO

Specked this boy on the weekend when he was scratched.

Bursting to win a race. Back to the 2100m will suit.

Some question marks around the heavy conditions today but he’s hard fit.

Think he maps well to take a sit and launch wide on the turn and let rip.

Specking #4 ALHAMBRA PALACE also.

Best Each Way/Roughie

Race 7: Expected Tempo: Solid

#15 CHEVAL CHIC

Was a silly price early.

One that loves the conditions and was absolutely flying last start when blocked for a run.

Shinn does jump off for #5 HANAU which is concerning but happy with the Stockdale booking.

Each way all day.

I will be backing #5 HANAU also who comes down from Sydney who ran a great FU run behind In Flight.

Suited 2nd up with some more fitness on side.
