RACE 6: #7 JUST FEELIN’ LUCKY & #2 SQUEEZEBOX

JUST FEELIN’ LUCKY was beaten by the smallest of margins first-up at Hawkesbury, where fitness may have been a factor late over the 1300m, after a 148-day break. She took off from the 400m and looked the winner but was just beaten late in the piece. She gets a lovely set up here, draw beautifully and goes up 100m which should be perfect.

SQUEEZEBOX is the saver bet in case things go pear-shaped with our top pick. He returned after 161 days a little lighter than previous preparations, and like our other selection, looked the winner late here at Kembla but was just beaten on the line. Extra 100m helps his cause though the gate does look sticky. Definitely see this as a two-horse race.

RACE 3: #3 ETCHED IN TIME & #5 CHILLY CHARLIE

ETCHED IN TIME held his ground nicely over the mile at Warwick Farm last time out, in a harder race than he contests today. The start prior, he was inconvenienced multiple times over the final 200m in what was a blanket finish at Newcastle. He looks to get a soft time of it up front here with not much speed engaged and the drop back in class suits.

CHILLY CHARLIE can be forgiven for his first up effort over 1400m here at Kembla. After 134 days off the scene, he had to slog on a heavy track, where you could tell he wasn’t comfortable, and there was no catching the two frontrunners who finished 1-2. A good track, good draw and up to a mile suits him down to the ground.
