The Caulfield racecourse is currently a good 4 but i believe it’s going to get into the soft range.
There is some rain due to hit today, so the track could downgrade pretty fast.
The rail is out 4m for the entire circuit.
Saturday’s Caulfield racing tips can be found below,
Best Bet
Race: 1 1400m – Expected Tempo: Strong
#2 DOM
Hard to go past this Pierro gelding.
With it being the first race of the day, the rail should be on, and track will be in the best knick it can be all day.
Can and should burst to the front and prove ultra hard to catch.
That being said, I am absolutely scared silly of I AM VELVET, so untapped and with the recent comments from Shinn (post our tips going live) saying he didn’t elect one over the other which is what i thought.
We did capture the early odds of DOM at $2.70 so give him strength.
Next Best Tip
Race: 3 2400m – Expected Tempo: Average
#1 PHATS
Solid FU run here in AUS after coming over from NZ.
Was deadset a million lengths off them just before the bend, granted off an avg tempo.
Once he got clear air at the 200m, he powered to the line.
Connections have jumped straight on the phone and requested the great mans services in Mr Shinn.
Best Each Way/Roughie
Race: 5 1100m – Expected Tempo: Strong
#5 HERBERT PARK
Love what Herbert Park is doing this prep and think she can go on with it here.
She’s going to get a soft map and possesses some great closing speed. If the track get’s a downgrade, that should only help.
We are getting a price to find out.
Other horses in the race i am keen on are #4 SUNSET DREAMING so i will be backing him also.
SLEDDING next best for those playing multiples.
Other Thoughts/Value Selections
Race 6: 1200m – Expected Tempo: Strong
Been on this colt for just about every start this prep.
Has had excuses in a few of those.
I think the bend is only going to help him. We get the A1 jock also.
#8 VALOIS is another worth noting, could spike produce a spike run today.
If playing exotics, PIASTRI is another great sniff.
Selections: #5 WALLENDA & #8 VALOIS
Race 7: 1200m – Expected Tempo: Solid
The more i look at this race, the more i give a slight chance to SEMILION.
It’s hard to see anything beating RECOMMENDATION though, absolutely love the horse, but have missed the early price.
But “IF” for what ever reason the fave is off his game, SEMILION is the one i want.
$10 seems generous for the smallest of nibbles.
Selections: #1 SEMILION
Race 9: 1400m – Expected Tempo: Strong
Wide open race to end the day.
Selections: #6 THE OPEN, #9 EL ROCKO, #14 CARDIGAN QUEEN
