Flemington Race Tips & Analysis for September 14, 2024

Distance: 1100m | Class: 3YO+ BM79 | Exp Tempo: Mod 

Tricky little opening affair to dissect.

I’m predicting that the speed is going to be moderate with SHIRSHOV most likely leading from SPARKING & BARAQIEL.

SPARKING interests me at a price, has returned well this prep and is putting some solid numbers on the board.

BARAQIEL is super dangerous back on top of the ground.

ZOURION has raced in some decent company and his latest trial was superb

If MOBY DICK can settle somewhat positive to the leaders he can pounce late if they over do it.

SHIRSHOV is next best.

SCHEELITE so he has to be respected after being gelded.

Numbers: 16 – 12 – 1 – 13

Now with the track turning into the soft range my selections have changed a touch.

MOONHAVEN comes into calculations now on the soft going, he has the turn of foot to sprint off this tempo.

SCHEELITE moves up in my calculations also.

Ill be backing all 4 numbers who i think are a great chance to take this out at nice prices.

SHIRSHOV is next best and is to be included in any multiples.

Not a race i’m overly keen to play in.

But, it is Saturday, so let’s have some fun.

i’d be looking at those runners with some value.

I think that resides in DETROIT CITY & DAWN SERVICE

Loved DETROIT CITY’s last start when every man and their dog potted him in the yard.

So you can only suspect there will be some great improvement off that win.

The Sydney runner DAWN SERVICE look super dangerous after an impressive trial since coming down.

Will be backing DAWN SERVICE & DETROIT CITY 

Numbers: 5 – 3 – 6 – 2

Distance: 1100m | Class: 3YO LR F | Exp Tempo: Mod/Fast

Back on top of the ground will be key here for BOLD BASTILLE.

Hey can lead for fun and kick away.

I do have a lot of time for DRIFTING but not so much J Kah at the moment.

Scared to back her rides currently (watch her win this race now)

Her partner in crime on KUROYANAGI can bounce back if they go fast.

Tricky race with a lot of unknowns in the potential conditions.

A lot of these are lightly raced and untested in the going.

Those at odds i thought could run a race are #2 BELLATRIX STAR, #6 HARPALEE & #13 KHADIME

MANOLO BLING comes into my numbers also.

With the 2 shorties in the market looking the obvious, could be just a race to watch.

But if you feel like going roughie hunting, you could back #2, #6, #13

Which is what i will most likely be doing if the track is in the soft 7 range.

Gee GROWING EMPIRE was impressive first up.

Was stated that he may need the run but he handled them with ease.

Back to the 1100m is interesting, do i want to jump into the black odds? No.

But who beats him?

FIRST SETTLER has looked good in both outings and the stable have a firm opinion of him. 

I like NDOLA, especially with some give now in the track.

POLYGLOT can run a race and into the money

Numbers: 7 – 1 – 9 – 11

Distance: 2500m | Class: Qlty G3 | Exp Tempo: Mod

POST IMPRESSIONIST interests me after a pretty nice “trial” return off a hurdle pace race.

With a bit more pace injected here he can launch.

With a chance to get into the Melbourne Cup on the line it will be all systems go.

I will have something small on him at $101 on the Melbourne Cup futures market.

MOSTLY CLOUDY is next best and will most likely back him also.

Happy to pass on BERKSHIRE BREEZE & POINT KING, especially at the price.

Spewing the track is going to most likely be in the soft range, i was really keen on POST IMPRESSIONIST on top of the ground.

Still could run well but i’m less confident, brings the stablemate into calculations now.

MOSTLY CLOUDY will run well.

No reason DASHING DUCHESS can’t go on with it

Distance: 1400m | Class: 4YO LR | Exp Tempo: Avg – Below

HOLYMANZ has to be forgive last start, should be fit and ready 3rd up and back onto a big deck, maps well.

MAKRAM can run a race here first up if they go hard. Has the motor and the trial runs under the belt.

DEVOTED looks suited here now with the conditions.

Will be watching track pattern on the day before launching into a bet here i think but will update post race morning.

Call me crazy here but i am considering RUMBLED AGAIN & UNUSUAL CULTURE at a knockout price.

Both can absolutely run well on their day and i just think the $70+ is overs.

The WA raider ALSEPHINA looks half smart, especially with the booking of Mr Shinn.

Looks a wide open race hence why i am keen to try and extract one at a price.

FOXY CLEOPATRA & VAGRANT NEXT BEST

Numbers: 8 – 11 – 10 – 15 

Distance: 1600m | Class: 3YO+ G1  | Exp Tempo: Fast

Fingers crossed the PRIDE OF JENNI will all know and love is back.

Forgiving last start with the wind and the post race complications.

If she’s back to 100% health, look out.

Hoping she can make a statement and at $6+ you take that all day.

Numbers: 6 – 8 – 7 – 2

Distance: 1200m | Class: 4YO+ G2 | Exp Tempo: Mod

Tricky race this with a stack of chances.

It’s going to depend on the tempo the leaders decide to set.

Hard to go past RIGHT TO PARTY who just keeps turning up at this track and distance.

SANS DOUTE was impressive first up behind Mornington Glory and will be running on.

THE INFERNO could bob up, predicting the outside fence to be the place to be.

Distance: 1700m | Class: OPN | Exp Tempo: Mod – Fast

Funny race to end the day on, quite a few first up runners short in the market engaged.

I don’t have a firm opinion on this race

POSITIVITY looks the easy selection 2nd up. Might pose a fitness edge on most of these.

MILFORD and EMISSARY next best. 

EMISSARY could actually be a sneaky knockout hope at a price.
