Sandown Race Tips & Analysis for July 31, 2024

Michael Kruse 30 July 2024 Last Updated: 31/07/24

The Sandown racecourse is going to be run on the hillside track and is currently rated a heavy 8 at the time of writing. (could improve to a soft 7)

The rail is out 4m for the entire circuit which should see those peeling out wide as an advantage.

Today’s Sandown racing tips can be found below,

Best Bet

Race 8: 2400m – Expected Tempo: Average

#5 MARTIAL EAGLE

Interesting little race here, think a few will be quick to jump on JABBAWOCKEEZ.

Not for me, 5 goes at the track for nil, never been over this distance.

Shinn jumping off.

What Mr Shinn does jump aboard is #5 MARTIAL EAGLE, who i rate as the top chance in the race.

Get’s an ideal setup here, loves the conditions and can sit off this map to peel wide and launch down the straight.

Rates and weights well. Hopefully they’re running on.

Next Best Tip

Race 6: 1400m – Expected Tempo: Solid

#2 HANAU

Had no real luck last start getting stuck in traffic for most of the straight.

Hit the line with purpose once clear and the race rates well.

He’s one that won’t mind the conditions and the step up to 1400m is going to suit.

Shinn sticks fat.

Best Each Way/Roughie

Race 7: 1600m – Expected Tempo: Solid

#2 PARIAH PEARL

Super consistent filly, will most likely be a touch vulnerable late but the price is to hard to ignore.

Keen on an each way basis for sure, especially if the pattern is favouring those on speed.

Stuck on gamely last start behind a smart one in LE ZEBRA.

Start prior won at this track beating NODACHI who she gives 2.5kg to.

NODACHI could get buried on the fence though.

Other Thoughts/Value Selections

Race 3: 1300m – Expected Tempo: Average

Ran a blinder here last start.

Setups up very similar, and should be rock hard fit now.

$7+ seems generous.

Another runner ill back is #2 JENNIPENDING who can spike here 2nd up.

Selections: #3 GLITZING & #2 JENNIPENDING

Race 4: 1000m – Expected Tempo: Strong

Looks to be a bit of pace set for this race.

Thought #4 RATTLE AND BANG presented some value at the price we secured on X. $11.

Another one that will be a pattern and tempo watch.

Flopped last start but prior to that was a nice run in behind Mrs Chrissie who has been running well in G3 races.

Selections: #4 RATTLE AND BANG

Race 5: 1600m – Expected Tempo: Above average

Going to entertain a small bet on #1 DUNALLEY.

Not going silly but was a nice FU run and can only see some natural improvement here.

Likes the conditions.

Selections: #1 DUNALLEY
