GIO Stadium, home to the Canberra Raiders and ACT Brumbies, is nestled in North Canberra’s bushland and offers over 25,000 seats with top-notch facilities. While parking is available for $10, it’s limited, so public transport or rideshare options are recommended. Getting to GIO Stadium
While driving is an option, it is highly suggested to find an alternative mode of transportation due to the limited availability of parking resources.
Driving
Parking at the venue is limited, so be sure to arrive early. General parking is $10, but for Brumbies and Raiders games we suggest arriving 45 minutes before kick-off time for a reduced $5 fee. Parking entry is via Battye Street (West) or Agar Street (East).
Overflow Parking
Overflow car parking is available at the University of Canberra with a 20-minute walk to GIO Stadium. Buses may also pick up from College St, however, it is a good idea to check timetables to confirm.
Drop-off & Pick-up
Community drop-off points on Leverrier St and outside AIS Arena.
Note: There is no pick-up/drop-off on the East side.
Traffic Arrangements
Temporary traffic changes ensure smooth vehicle and pedestrian flow to and from GIO Stadium. Be patient and respectful of local residents and businesses.
E-Scooters
Ride e-scooters from Belconnen to Civic, there is e-scooter parking at designated drop-off zones on Leverrier St.
Taxi/Ride Share
There is a taxi rank available on Battye Street on the West side only. For ride shares, use ‘AIS Arena’ or ‘AIS Visitors Centre’ for drop-off/pick-up as this will ensure a smooth flow of traffic.
Catching a Bus to GIO Stadium
There are free game day buses from all major interchanges, arriving 10-20 minutes before kick-off and departing 20 minutes after the game. Regular Transport Canberra buses also service GIO stadium.
Chartered Coach
Parking is available alongside the East Car Park.
