Australian betting company Tabcorp has extended its partnership with Racecourse Media Group (RMG) for another five years, starting on 1 January 2024. The deal allows Australian and New Zealand bettors to enjoy British and Irish racing events, as the UK-based RMG holds the media rights for some of the most popular British and Irish races.
RMG is the rights owner for all Jockey Club-affiliated racecourses, including world-renowned racing grounds, such as Cheltenham, Aintree, Newmarket, and Epsom. Aussie and Kiwi punters will continue to be able to watch the likes of the Cheltenham Festival, Grand National, the Cazoo Derby Festival and the Juddmonte International Stakes.
Sportsbet is Also Using Tabcorp’s Content and Media Services
RMG Chief Executive Officer Martin Stevenson was delighted they would team up with Tabcorp and Sky Racing to offer British and Irish tote services to bettors in Australia and New Zealand. The RMG chief said that the goal was to maximize the profile and revenues of their racecourses.
Through Sky Racing, Tabcorp holds a large portion of the Australian racing media market. Even rival Sportsbet is a Tabcorp services consumer, as it renewed its partnership with Sky Racing earlier this year.
Sky Racing Australia’s General Manager Adam Brownlee was pleased that Australasia would benefit from the best British and Irish racing content. Brownlee said Sky Racing was “the home of racing in Australia”, as it provided 4,000 outlets and 1.3 million homes with over 150,000 races every year, and the partnership with the Racecourse Media Group was “a great outcome for the industry.”
