Victor Radley is looking at four weeks on the sidelines after his headbutt against the Dragons.
The Roosters enforcer could be out for three games if he admits guilt. However, if he decides to contest the charge, he will be out for almost a month and will be out for four games.
Radley was Lucky Not to Be Sent Off
The incident occurred 16 minutes into the game when the action was stopped because Zac Lomax slammed into James Tedesco. At the time, the Dragons had a 12-0 lead and later went on to win the match 24-22.
Soon after Lomax’s head slam, a melee ensued and, even though it was difficult to see at first, it became evident that Radley used a headbutt in all the pushing and shoving.
The Fox League commentary team of Shane Flanagan and Andrew Voss didn’t initially notice the headbutt in the scuffle and discussed whether the head slam tackle by Lomax was fair. And Flanagan concluded it was, as Tedesco’s head didn’t hit the ground.
The pair then realized that Radley may have used a headbutt, with Voss noting that there was “more to look at” in the video.
So, even though Lomax was penalized for the head-slamming action, Radley was waiting for the imminent sending-off for the headbutt.
However, despite Dragons captain Ben Hunt asking the referee for Radley to be sin-binned, the payer was not sent off. Voss said Radley was extremely lucky not to get “a chair in the sin bin” and that he “should go buy a lotto ticket.”
Even Roosters fans were critical of Radley on the socials, with Roosters coach Trent Robinson one of the few people who thought “it was a scuffle” and decided not to talk about the headbutt.
